One form, one restoration company at the other end of it, and no charge to you. What follows is what to put in it and what happens to it afterwards.

Tell us what happened

The more of this you can answer, the more useful the first call back is. None of it is compulsory and a short message is better than no message.

  • Where the water came from, if you know. A supply line, a drain, the roof, a machine, or something coming up rather than down.
  • What it reached. Carpet, hardwood, drywall, a ceiling below, cabinets, or a finished lower level.
  • Roughly how long it has been there. An hour and a fortnight are different jobs, and the second one usually involves growth.
  • Whether it is still happening. If it is, the first call is a plumber rather than anybody here.
  • Photographs. These change the quality of the response more than any other thing on this list, including the words.

Leave it empty and the only contact will be a phone call.

What happens to it, and what is not promised

The request is written down as you sent it and passed to one restoration company working in your part of Oakland or the East Bay. They call you, they look at the job, and they price it. Nothing gets pulled out of a wall before you have agreed to a number. There is no charge for the introduction and no obligation to accept whatever comes back.

What this page will not do is tell you how quickly somebody will be there. This site is not the company that turns up, so any arrival window printed here would be a promise made on somebody else's behalf, and those are worth nothing at eleven at night with a ceiling coming down. The person who can answer that question is the one who calls you, and it is a fair thing to ask them first.

If the water is still running, none of this is your first move. Stop it at the shutoff if you can reach one, get a plumber onto the cause, and read the first steps guide while you wait. The cleanup is a separate trade from the repair and it can start an hour later without losing anything.

What happens to the details themselves, how long they are kept and how to have them removed is set out on the privacy page, in the same plain terms as the rest of this.
